Hirkan National Park

Hirkan protects the Hyrcanian forests of the far south near Lankaran — a relict woodland that has survived largely unchanged since before the last Ice Age, now inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is dense, humid and full of species found almost nowhere else.

Trees like the ironwood and the Persian silk tree grow here alongside rare fauna. The walking is gentle forest hiking and nature trails, with excellent birdwatching, best in the mild spring and autumn.
