Best time to visit, answered

When is the best time to visit Georgia and Azerbaijan?
April to June and September to October are the most comfortable across both countries, with mild days and green or golden scenery. Summer suits the Black Sea and Caspian coasts and the high mountains; December to March is the ski season.
When is the ski season in the Caucasus?
December to March, sometimes into April at altitude. The main resorts are Gudauri and Bakuriani in Georgia and Shahdag and Tufandag in Azerbaijan.
When is the grape harvest (Rtveli) in Georgia?
September and October across the Kakheti wine region, with hands-on picking, grape-treading and supra feasts.
What are the hottest months in Baku and Tbilisi?
July and August, when Baku and the lowlands are hot. The mountains stay cool, which is why summer trips often head to Kazbegi, Svaneti, Gabala or Quba.
What is Georgia's weather like in August?
August is hot on the lowlands and coast — Tbilisi, Batumi and Baku reach the low-to-mid 30s °C — while the high mountains (Svaneti, Kazbegi, Shahdag) stay cool and green. Summer trips route around the heat: cities in the mornings, mountains or coast in the afternoons and nights.
When is the best time for Indian travellers to visit Georgia?
Many Indian guests travel in the June–August summer holidays, swapping the monsoon heat for the cool Caucasus and the Batumi coast. Spring (Apr–Jun) and autumn (Sep–Oct) are quieter and best for sightseeing. Tell us your dates and we shape the route to the season.
