Do I need a SIM card or an eSIM in Georgia?
Either works — both countries have fast, cheap mobile data. A local SIM or a travel eSIM is the simplest way to stay online between hotels. In Georgia, Magti, Silknet and Cellfie sell tourist SIMs at the airport and in town; many travellers prefer an eSIM to be connected the moment they land.
What about a SIM or eSIM in Azerbaijan?
Azercell, Bakcell and Nar offer tourist data bundles, with strong coverage in Baku and along the main corridors. As in Georgia, a travel eSIM is a convenient alternative if your phone supports one. Whichever you choose, your driver's WhatsApp is shared so you're never out of contact.
Is there good mobile coverage in the mountains?
4G/5G covers the cities and most tourist routes well. High mountain valleys — parts of Svaneti, Tusheti, Khinalug — can be patchy, which is normal. We plan around it and you always have our 24/7 line.
Is mobile data expensive?
No — data is inexpensive in both countries by international standards, and tourist bundles are cheap for a week or two of travel. It's one of the easier parts of the trip to sort on arrival.
