Batumi — subtropical and playful
Batumi, on Georgia's Black Sea coast in subtropical Adjara, pairs a walkable old town and a long seaside boulevard with a skyline of quirky modern towers. It's a summer beach city with a relaxed feel, and a base for the green Adjaran mountains inland.
Baku — Caspian and cosmopolitan
Baku, on the Caspian, layers a UNESCO-listed walled Old City against oil-boom mansions and the glass Flame Towers. It's larger and more cosmopolitan than Batumi, with a grand seafront boulevard and a modern, fast-moving energy.
